Estate Plan
Estate planning involving helping our clients understand the possibilities for passing their assets to heirs and beneficiaries. This includes understanding: the probate process, passing assets outside of probate, the authority and duties of agents regarding assets, and the potential tax repurcusions of transfers.
Last Will & Testament
A Last Will and Testament, or simply a “Will”, is the document used to direct the disposition of your final assets through the probate process. We help clients create wills that dispose of their assets in accordance with their wishes.
Testamentary Trusts
We assist our clients in passing assets to their heirs outside of the probate process. This includes using testamentary trusts, business entities, assignment on death accounts, and insurance policies.
Powers of Attorney
We help our clients assignt powers of attorney to others. Powers of attorney are simply powers whereby an individual can act as your agent. There are many types of documents that grant general and limited powers of attorney. Most notabe among these are the durable general power of attorney and the financial power of attorney.
Health Directive
A health directive is a combination of healthcare power of attorney and living will. The document designates an agent to make healthcare decisions on your behalf if you are incapable. Also, it allows you to dictate your wishes regarding end-of-life care and treatment.
HIPAA Authorization
A HIPAA authorization allows your named designee to access your protected, personal medical records and information.
